Handy Tools We Use – P1: MeasureIt

June 10, 2015
Sometimes, I got questions like:

Can you move the content area on my site a bit closer to the navigation menu?

Oh, I’m willing to help but in this case I have no idea of how much “a bit” is in your mind.
It’ll be easier for me if you ask:

Can you move the content area 50px closer to the navigation menu?

I know that, on your side, you don’t know how to know the exact size you want.
That’s not only the case when you need to know the size of elements on your Weebly site such as logo, images, etc.
Luckily, there is a handy tool which is very useful for you.

That tool is MeasureIt.

It is a Firefox’s extension but you can get it on Chrome or Safari as well.
I use it everyday and I believe it’ll make your editing experience more enjoyable.
You can use MeasureIt as a ruler across any webpage to check the width, height, or alignment of page elements in pixels.

Let’s look at some examples of how to use MeasureIt.
